Through my fine art photography I want to capture a sense of place that may not be literal but holds the feeling or essence of what I’m seeing or experiencing. I love the mysterious world of color, movement and fluidity in images and often use multiple exposures and intentional camera movement as tools to create my art.
In 2003, I took a leave of absence from my job as a women’s health nurse practitioner, to follow a life long interest in photography. I attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, in Montana, for a three month intensive program. Since that time I have studied and been inspired by many fine art photographers including Freeman Patterson, Eddie Soloway, Elizabeth Opalenik, Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery.
